My dad started Prewett's Fruit Stand Inc. in 1974. I remember working for my dad in the summers when school was out. He always worked long days, some from 3 AM til 8 PM serving Georgia peaches, pecans, Vidalia onions, and watermelons, etc.
In August 2004, Dad retired and handed me the ropes. I didn't have to fix anything. He had spent so many years to understand the business better, so I continued what he had started.
I went incorporated in 2014 and am proud to continue my father's legacy. It would not have happened if Jim Hobgood didn't sell me the land, so I am grateful. As for Mr. Simpson, it took his willingness to sell me the land as well. Stanley went well above what he had to do to see I could purchase this land. He also donated a large sign to cover the Huddle House tower. The world needs more people like him! I hope to continue and improve my business and hopefully hand down to my children Derrick, Tevin, and Ian Prewett.
